Bat Mitzvah Theme – Beach Party!

I love throwing a ‘theme’ party because I know where to concentrate my efforts on all aspects of party planning from invitations to favors. “Beach Party” is a popular, fun theme. Here are some suggestions to make your Beach Party a memorable one!

Start with the Invitations: I love to surf the web to find unique invitations. Simply type “Beach Theme Invitations” into your search bar and you’ll have more choices than imaginable. Don’t stick to just the first page of search results – often you can find real gems a few pages in. (“Flip Flops” is a fun beach theme for a Bat Mitzvah – there are some really clever invites).

Move on to the Decorations:

· You can always turn to stores that specialize in Prom theme scenery to provide really terrific props/decor. Anderson and Stumps are the most well known of these stores.

· Or you can make your own scenery. I love to string Chinese lanterns throughout a room and turn drink and food stations into ‘tiki’ stands. A soft-serve tiki stand would be a big hit!

“Grill Theme” Food:

· Serving the entrees on skewers makes for a beach-like meal. And meat, chicken and fish all work well. A ‘tropical’ rice dish (one with bits of pineapple, red pepper, etc.) makes for a colorful and appropriate side

· Having a Smores style dessert is a great way to incorporate the beach theme. A little web surfing and you’ll find lots of recipes and elegant ideas for Smores cakes, bars, and cupcakes. Want visuals? Go to Google.com and then click “Images” in the upper left section of the page. Type in “Smores desserts” and you’ll have great options at your fingtertips.

Party Favors: Send your guests off with a thank you gift that continues with the “beach theme”. There are so many to choose from: beach or flip-flops themed picture frames, cookies favors in a bikini, beach or luau theme, personalized beach theme party cups, shell themed candle favors, etc.
