There are many different traditional Halloween recipes floating around. These recipes make this particular holiday a favorite among many people. You can choose from a beverage recipe, or a cookie recipe, some even like cake recipes. Here, I will introduce you to a couple of different recipes that you may find enjoyable to put up at your next Halloween party.

They may not be the traditional Halloween recipes that you have come to grow and love throughout your life, but they are some of my favorites. Once you put these ingredients together and spruce up your tricky treat, you are sure to find that you love them. Who knows, you may even elect to allow these recipes to start a new tradition among your friends, relatives, neighbors, and coworkers! The first that we will start with are basic crispy Halloween treats.

In order to make some spooky spectacular crispy traditional Halloween recipes, you will need to gather some basic supplies. First, get up about a half a cup of butter and enough marshmallows to fill up nine or ten cups. Now, you will want to get a box of cereal out – Rice Crispys is the ideal brand. Now, get out all those bags of candy corn and set aside about two cups of that. Now, you will want some of those little pumpkins that are actually candy, about a cup of chocolate chips, and some food coloring. Orange is the best color when it comes to this particular Halloween recipe.

Now, basically, all you have to do is to melt down the butter and all those yummy marshmallows and then mix them together. Once you have done all of this, mix together the rest of the ingredients. Then, mix in the marshmallow mix and pour in some orange food coloring. Allow everything to cool off, and then cut it all down into little cookies or bars. You will find this is one of the best traditional Halloween recipes out there!

Now, Halloween would not be complete without all those creative spooky Jell-O treats. I like to refer to this as “Spooky Slime”. It is really easy to create! All you have to do is purchase some big boxes of lime, or green colored, Jell-O. You will want to follow the instructions listed on the Jell-O packaging in order to create this particular product. Now, you will want to gather some spooky looking candy.

This can be gummy worms, spiders, or whatever else you can find. Simply mix this in the Jell-O for some huge fun! If adults will be consuming this product, you may throw a splash of Vodka in for some added fun! That’s all there is to creating some great traditional Halloween recipes!

Halloween Recipes: Homemade Candy Corn – Food & Party on The Stir …

If you have a child with food allergies, you probably know how hard it is to find candy corn that’s been produced in a peanut- or nut-free facility. That’s why many moms choose to make their own candy corn. Here’s how to do it:

Homemade Candy Corn (from Homemade Dessert Recipes)

1 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2-1/2 cups powdered icing sugar

1/3 cup powdered milk

Red and yellow food coloring

In a large saucepan combine granulated sugar, corn syrup, and butter. Bring to a boil over high heat while stirring constantly, then reduce heat to medium and continue boiling for 5 minutes while stirring occasionally. Remove mixture from heat and add vanilla extract.

Combine the icing sugar, powdered milk, and salt in a separate bowl and add to the mixture in the saucepan, mixing thoroughly. allow the dough mixture to sit until it’s cool enough to handle.

Divide the dough into 3 equal parts and place each part in a small mixing bowl. Add orange food coloring to one part (a combination of yellow and red) and yellow food coloring to another part, leaving the remaining part uncolored or white.

Knead the dough in each bowl until smooth and stiff enough to hold its shape, and the colors are even. Wearing plastic gloves can help prevent your hands from being stained by the food coloring.

Still using your hands, roll each part into a long, thin rope, making each rope of equal length. You may need to use a long countertop or tabletop covered with a strip of waxed paper for this. You’ll also need to be careful when rolling as the ropes can easily break if you form them too thin.

When you’re done, lay the three ropes of dough along side each other with the orange dough in the middle and carefully press them together to make a long, narrow rectangle. A gentle, light rolling with a rolling pin along the length of the rectangle helps to press the rope edges together, but be careful not to flatten the dough so the rectangle stays as narrow as possible, plus you’ll also want the kernels plump looking and not flat.

Finally, cut the dough into triangles or “kernels” using a sharp knife and gently shape the kernels with your fingers, if needed. allow the kernels to sit for a while and become firm.
