You have a special day coming up with your new little bundle of joy. But how do you decide on the perfect favor to pass out to the guests? Here are a few suggestions.

First, identify the preferences of your friends and family The favors you choose should really fit the flavor of your guests. Some families like keepsakes, while others prefer more practical items.  One way to go is to create homemade favors  If you have mom’s favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe, you can make those. Wrap a couple cookies in colored plastic and you have yourself a favor! Wrap a nice ribbon around it to make the presentation extra special. They also have colorful paper bags if you are going more environmentally friendly. You can put a little placard that simply says “thank you for sharing this with us” in the bag. Fold over the bag. Hole-punch the top, and wrap a ribbon through it. Another homemade favor can be put together by going to your local craft store. They sell little boxes which hold candy. Some are plain white, and others are see-through with “love” inscribed on them. You can also purchase personalized jars with the baptism information already on a sticker on the jar.   Fill with any favorite treat.  Maybe you want something simple and elegant and a keepsake for your event A simple sweet porcelain angel is an option. Pretty candle holders with a cross as the prominent design is another possibility. How about a nice small frame with a cross on it for the guests to fill with pictures of your little one, or their own? Perhaps a simple photo of the baby that you took yourself? You can get photo keepsake holders to house them as well. Perhaps you want something very practical that people will use in their everyday life You can purchase personalized pencils and pens relatively cheaply. Note pads, bottle openers, tape measures, letter openers, salt and pepper shakers, and bookmarks top the list of practical favors. What if you want something personalized?  You may decide to find a Baptism favor with the baby’s name and/or photo. Remember to plan ahead, as most places require some lead time. Interesting personalized favor ideas include a photo Christmas tree ornament, which combines two important religious events, custom muffin mix or candy bars, and photo cookies. Try playing cards with the baby’s picture on them. Lastly, I want to give you my 3 favorite favors which seem to combine all of these traits.
